Institute of Management Sarawak signs Memorandum of Understanding with U21Global

Sarawak, July 25, 2007 - An MoU to partner and market U21Global's graduate programmes in Sarawak was today signed between representatives of U21Global and the Institute of Management Sarawak (MASA). U21Global was represented by Dr Helen Lange while MASA was represented by Yang Bhg. Datuk Abang Hj Abdul Karim Tun Openg. The MoU was inked in the presence and office of YB Dato Sri Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg, the patron of MASA and the Honorable Minister for Housing, Sarawak.

Datuk Abang Haji Abdul Karim, President of MASA in inaugurating the MoU ceremony said that this collaboration and partnership fits into our beloved Chief Minister's vision for the state's second wave of development which focuses on human capital development and thereby fulfilling a key ingredient towards achieving vision 2020. Elaborating further on the same theme, he said "An online programme such as those offered by U21Global that leverages the power of the World Wide Web and other electronic resources would fit perfectly for the vast state of Sarawak as it enables the delivery of top notched world quality education anywhere in the state where the only issue is whether or not there is a telephone connection. This can contribute significantly to addressing the problem of the rural-urban divide and the challenges thrown up by globalisation and the k-economy. It also paves the way for Sarawakians to engage the outside borderless world. U21Global's programmes are not only more accessible, but are also more affordable and presents greater value for money as compared to other similar programmes offered in the region. It offers Sarawakians in both the private and public sectors who are looking for an effective alternative to traditional education and training an innovative avenue with uncompromised quality.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Helen Lange, Dean, Business Management Programmes at U21Global said, "It is a great privilege and honor for U21Global to be in partnership with MASA. An important and distinctive feature of our programmes is that organisations receive immediate return on investment and we trust that our student - centric content backed by interactive and collaborative technologies will ensure that Sarawakians will get the best of education relevant in the global context and help them develop competencies required for international business practices and management."
